Darlene McLean, Executive Director
Darlene served with the Christian Embassy of Canada for six years as the Deputy Director prior to becoming the Executive Director in May 2012. Over the years, she has had the privilege of leading and participating in more than fifteen Business Tours to different regions of Canada and multiple International Delegations to Africa, Asia and Europe. In December 2012, Darlene was awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal for her work with the Christian Embassy for the benefit of diplomats and government leaders.
Steve Strongitharm, Deputy Director
Steve Strongitharm joined the Christian Embassy team as Deputy Director in September 2018. Steve comes to the Christian Embassy with a background in public education and leadership development among university students across Canada. During his fifteen years with Power to Change, Steve led expansion efforts to double the number of universities that they were working with. He provided spiritual and leadership development to staff and students across the country and participated in shorter term student initiatives in Tanzania, Kenya, Peru, Panama, the Philippines and Spain. In July 2014 Steve was awarded Power to Change’s Excellence in Leadership Award, identifying him as one who inspires and multiplies leaders.
David Imbrock, Senior International Representative
David Imbrock is a Senior International Representative for the Christian Embassy of Canada, a position he has held since 2010. Previously, David and his wife Susan, served with affiliates of the Christian Embassy for more than forty years, engaging with diplomats, political leaders, professors, students and humanitarian aid professionals in dozens of countries. For 14 years, they served 17 French-speaking countries across Africa, including Mali, where they lived for ten of those years. More recently, they lived in Geneva, Switzerland for eight years, overseeing humanitarian aid projects in thirty countries.
Robert Montgomery, International Representative
Robert joined the Christian Embassy in 1999 as a part-time associate to the Executive Director, then from 2003 to 2006 served as Deputy Director. Since 2006 he now serves as International Representative of the Christian Embassy and coordinator of the English as a Foreign Language program.
Stephanie Dyck, International Representative
Stephanie Dyck joined the Christian Embassy team in 2013 as an International Representative. She has worked with university student-athletes in Canada through Athletes in Action, facilitating their development as holistic athletes–physically, mentally and spiritually. She coached basketball for eight seasons and has organized and led teams on tours throughout Canada and the United States, as well as to Europe, the Middle East, East Africa and the Caribbean. Stephanie graduated from the Arrow Leadership program and is fluent in English, French and German.
Susan Imbrock, International Representative
Susan Imbrock has served with the Christian Embassy of Canada since 2010 as English teacher, small group leader and senior Birkman Method consultant. The latter offers personality and career insights for individuals preparing for post-secondary studies up to retirement. Her work with affiliates of the Christian Embassy took her to twelve African nations together with her husband David, whom she married in 1982. Susan also lived in Geneva, Switzerland for eight years, where she taught caregiving and encouragement courses to members of the UN community and others. She and David helped launch the Christian Embassy in Geneva in 2008, two years before moving to Ottawa.
