Zoom Meeting: Leadership Race Analysis – Conservatives Decide!

Her Majesty’s Loyal Official Opposition decides. The Conservative Party of Canada chooses a new Leader! In this zoom meeting Mike Donison, political analyst, will summarize the Conservative Party’s leadership race and provide an analysis of the outcome. There will be time for Q & A. He will also speak about how his faith shapes his professional perspectives.

Mr. Mike Donison

Mr. Donison is a veteran of 20 federal and provincial elections. His political positions in Ottawa since 2001 were Deputy-Director and then Director of Policy and Research in the Office of the Leader of the Opposition subsequently the Executive Director of the Conservative Party of Canada and then as Senior Policy Advisor for Legislation and Democratic Reform to the Government House Leader.

He has experience working with cabinet ministers - first as Assistant to the Minister of National Defence and Veterans’ Affairs in Ottawa (1979-80), later as Ministerial Assistant to the Minister of Industry and Small Business Development in Victoria, BC (1980-82). 

Since 2011, he has served as the Chancellor of‎ the Anglican Network in Canada (ANIC) which is the Canadian Diocese of the Anglican Church in North America (ACNA). 

Mr. Donison is a graduate of the University of Victoria (Honours Political Science) and the University of British Columbia (Law). He practiced law particularly in the areas of commercial, real estate and succession and estate law for 23 years and is still currently a member of the British Columbia Bar. He also taught courses on Constitutional law, the Canadian Legal System and Canadian Government at the University of Victoria.
