Believe, Serve, Lead – Dr. Os Guinness, 2018 National Prayer Breakfast

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual ecumenical event held in Ottawa inviting leaders to come together for an inspirational message, music and the opportunity to pray together. The breakfast is offered under the auspices of the speakers of the Senate and the House of Commons and is organized by a group of volunteers.

Special guest Humboldt Broncos‘ chaplain Sean Brandow begins his message at the 10:22 mark.

Dr. Os Guinness, author and social critic, and this year’s keynote speaker, begins his presentation Believe, Serve, Lead at the 43:08 mark.

Dr. Os Guinness, D. Phil.

Dr. Os Guinness is a frequent speaker and prominent social critic, addresses audiences worldwide, including the British House of Commons, the US Congress and the St. Petersburg Parliament on many issues. He completed his Doctor of Philosophy in the social sciences from Oriel College, Oxford.

Dr. Guinness was a freelance reporter with the BBC before moving to the United States in 1984. He has been a Guest Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Studies and the Brookings Institution and a Senior Fellow at the Trinity Forum and the EastWest Institute in New York.

He has written or edited more than thirty books, including: Unspeakable, A Free People’s Suicide, The Global Public Square and Renaissance. He helped to draft “The Williamsburg Charter” and “The Global Charter of Conscience,” which was published at the European Union Parliament in 2012.
