2016 National Prayer Breakfast Video

The National Prayer Breakfast is an annual event held in Ottawa under the authority of the speakers of the Senate and the House of Commons and is organized by a group of volunteers. This year’s breakfast featured an address by former British Cabinet Minister Jonathan Aitken. The theme of this year’s event was “Our Faithful God.” (The keynote address begins at 35:00 minute mark.)

Jonathan Aitken

Jonathan Aitken is a former British Cabinet Minister, Member of Parliament, author, columnist and campaigner for prison reform. His 26 year career in the House of Commons ended when he pleaded guilty to charges of perjury and served an 18 month prison sentence. After coming out of prison Jonathan graduated in Theology at Oxford University and has written sixteen books ranging from award winning biographies of Margaret Thatcher, Richard Nixon and John Newton to devotional titles such as Psalms for People Under Pressure. Son of Canadian parents and God son of former Prime Minister Lester B Pearson, Jonathan has family roots in Canada. He is internationally known as a Christian speaker having addressed National Prayer Breakfasts all over the world, most recently in Australia and Kenya.
